This film documents how a group of teachers and students at Sun Yat-Sen (Zhongshan) University put on stage the first-ever Chinese Language version of Eva Ensler's The Vagina Monologues in Mainland China; How they challenge prejudice and achieve self-education, growth, and empowerment in the process. The film takes one year and 10 months to finish. It includes interviews of feminist scholars, activist from Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei. It is a stage where girls, students and women speak themselves out and it's a process translation, transformation and creation. On and off the stage, these performers speak their sufferings, hopes, imagination, and joys. The documentary is a tribute to all the viewers who are engaged in promoting women's rights and gender equality in the new millennium in China and in the world.
