Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory®-2 (MMPI®-2)
The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory® (MMPI®), published by the University of Minnesota Press, has become one of the most important personality assessment inventories in the fields of clinical, counseling and industrial psychology since its first publication in 1942. It has been translated into over 20 languages. The revised edition was published in 1989 and called MMPI®-2 to differentiate it from the original edition.
The Chinese MMPI® is published by The Chinese University Press while the Chinese MMPI®-2 is published by The Chinese University Press and the Institute of Psychology, Academia Sinica, China, with permission from the University of Minnesota Press. The Chinese male and female norms used for scoring are developed by the Institute of Psychology, Academia Sinica. Like the MMPI®, MMPI®-2 includes:
1. A test booklet (in Chinese)
2. An administration manual
3. Answer sheets
4. Profile forms for males and females in the Chinese norm
5. Electronic version of the scoring answer key (testing and scoring on the computer)
6. Hand scoring answer key
As with the Chinese MMPI®, users of the Chinese MMPI®-2 should be competent in clinical diagnosis and in mental measurement, and is familiar with the original MMPI®-2. All test users should be registered.
